Studies consistently show that adults riding on sidewalks is one of the most dangerous things you can do on a bicycle. In some cities such as Royal Oak, riding on the sidewalk is against the traffic laws.

You should obey all traffic laws while riding in the street. This is for your safety. You will always lose against a car, truck or even a motorcycle. Ride on the sidewalks if you don't want to stop at stop signs. I ride my bike on the sidewalk and get to where I need to go. I don't understand why many ride with no helmets or blow traffic signals. This is extremely dangerous riding in my opinion.
