Bicycles and cars try to learn to share the road

As bicycle lovers across Michigan promote cycling in the face of increasing gasoline prices, the movement in metro Detroit took a hit this month when a bus and cyclist collided, killing the cyclist.
The crash occurred the morning of July 7 on Gratiot in Detroit and killed 50-year-old Vincent Trahan of Detroit. It has spurred discussion among bike riders and raised the question: How safe are cyclists on Michigan roads?
